My name is Bettina Seidl and I have been working in the field of wholistic health as educator, somatic therapist and wholistic counselor for 25 years. As far as “official certifications” go, I hold a BA in Humanities and Psychology, I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, an Advanced Instructor of Ortho-Bionomy® and Massage, and a certified Hypno-therapist.
If they gave masters degrees or PhDs for all the other training I have completed, I would have several. Learning is one of my greatest passions in life. I can’t remember a time when I haven’t been eager to discover ways to help others to come to greater understanding and well-being.
I have extensive training in:

- Sand Play and Art Therapy
- Vision-quest and Wilderness guiding
- Trauma and Grief Resolution
Eighteen years of teaching experience both in the US and in Germany has deepened my appreciation for how different each person learns and how important it is to meet people at their own level and give them choices in how they want to absorb and practice new information.
I began offering distant learning courses about 12 years ago, when students kept telling me that some courses were not offered often enough in the area where they lived and that some subjects could not be covered adequately in a weekend workshop. So, I put on my thinking cap and started figuring out how I could convert what I had been teaching in person into a distant learning class. I wanted to make sure that students would not only cover their requirements with these courses but would receive benefit for their practice as well as their personal lives.
I started out with Ethics and Emotions since that was the course that was most often requested. It was one of those "required" classes that many students were less than enthusiastic about completing. I made it my challenge that this class would be a memorable rather meaningless activity for students. Pretty much across the board, students have told me that their lives have improved as a result of taking the Ethics and Emotions class.
With that kind of feedback, I wondered what other classes I could offer and over the years several other courses have come into existence. See Course Descriptions for all the details on the other 5 courses you can take via Distant Learning from me.
Every one of my courses has gone through at least 10 revisions since I first started offering them. As I worked with each individual student, I received and implemented their input on what worked for them and what could be improved upon. So your feedback once you complete the course will be of great value to me and all the students who take the courses later on!
With all my teaching work, whether it is in classes or with individual clients, I have discovered that the mastery of new skills brings enthusiasm and self-empowerment to everyone. So no matter what your needs and interests are, I hope that my offerings will assist you in your continuing education and discovery.
